RAW scan files give you the most flexibility after scanning. They are ideal for photographers who want to handle their own color, contrast, and final edits with more control than standard delivery files.

If you are not sure what this option is, you probably do not need it. Please add RAW files to your cart only if you specifically want to edit them yourself and have the appropriate software.

Why “Silver Square”?

And then, the iconic 6×6 square medium-format camera, the one photographers usually mean when they say “square format,” really begins with the Rolleiflex TLR by Franke & Heidecke in Germany.

It was introduced in 1929, developed by Reinhold Heidecke and Paul Franke, and became the legendary 6×6 square camera family.

Just like the first famous square-format roll-film camera, the Kodak Brownie, released in 1900 by Eastman Kodak, the Silver Square Film Lab is here to make things simple and accessible.

It produced small square images on roll film and helped many people discover photography as an art form. It was the easiest and most accessible camera for everyone at that time.
